Trying to lose weight is a difficult process for many just like putting on weight on face while avoiding rest of your body parts, especially when there is not enough time in the day and if you haven’t exercised in a long time getting back into a routine can be tough. Going back to an intense work out can be difficult and hard on your body. The easiest thing you can do and the best place to start is to walk to lose that extra weight or you could use a treadmill for this exercise if you prefer.

Walking is a low intensity workout that will help your muscles gradually get back into an exercise routine.

Walking is the easiest and cheapest form of exercise, because we do it every day. Even couch potatoes have to walk at some point of the day, if it’s to the fridge or to get the mail, or even at the grocery store. Adding 30/45 minutes a day of walking can help you lose weight and get in better shape. Taking 3000 steps a day or more is what is recommended to get you started. Purchasing a pedometer will help you reach this goal, and most are small enough to attach to you and no one will notice.

Start with a slow 30-minute walk 3 or 4 times a week and the best time is before you eat. If you start your morning off with a walk around the block will help wake up your body and give you some morning exercise that will make you feel better that a cup of coffee. Trying taking 10-minute walks around your office a couple times a day to get your muscles moving if you are sitting at a desk all day, this will also give you some energy to make it through those crash periods in between meals.

After a couple of weeks step up your weight loss by walking a little faster for 45-60 minutes a day. Start with a slow 10-minute walk and then step up the pace for 40 minutes and then your last 10 minutes slow the pace down again for your cool down. If you find that this is helping and you want to take it a little further add some light hand weights during your walk. Increase your exercise step by step. Next you can start with 2-3 pounds in each hand, if you can lift them up and down over your head over 100 times without to much strain this is a good weight to use. Men can try a 3-4-pound weight to start. As you are walking lift your hands and weights over your head and lower them, this will help your upper body gain some muscle and make you work a little harder. Walking to lose weight is one of the best ways to start getting in shape, it is easy to do and you can go anywhere, also it’s healthy for you. Four Indian police, two militants killed in Kashmir attack: police

SRINAGAR (Reuters) – Four Indian paramilitary policemen and two militants were killed in a gunbattle that ensued after militants stormed into a police training center in Kashmir on Sunday, a police official said.

At least two militants entered the building at around 2:30 a.m. at Letpora, south of Srinagar, Rajesh Yadhav, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) spokesman told Reuters.

The militants fired indiscriminately and lobbed grenades before heading into the center, Yadhav said.

He said two militants and four police were killed in the gunbattle.

SN Srinvastav, special director general of the CRPF, said that there could be one or more militants still hiding.

“We hope that we will conclude the operation as soon as possible”, he said.

S P Vaid, director general of Jammu and Kashmir police, said that a search operation was going on, adding that they had received tip-offs about an impending militant strike in the Kashmir for the past three days.

“They (militants) were trying. They probably could not get a place and time earlier. So, they struck last night,” Vaid said.

Militants have targeted police camps in Kashmir in recent months. Eight Indian police officials were killed when Jaish-e-Mohammad militants attacked a security camp in southern Kashmir in August.

Indian troops have killed 206 militants this year, Vaid said. Last year’s total was 150.

India accuses Pakistan of training and arming militants and helping them infiltrate across the Line of Control that divides Kashmir. Pakistan denies those allegations.

The South Asian neighbors have fought two of their three wars since independence in 1947 over Muslim-majority Kashmir, which they both claim in full but rule in part.

New year could bring record low temperatures to U.S. Midwest, East Coast

(Reuters) – Bitterly cold weather will usher in the new year for much of the United States east of the Rocky Mountains this weekend, bringing record low temperatures to the Midwest, making travel difficult and putting a chill on New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The mercury in New York City’s Times Square was expected to drop to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 12 Celsius) with a wind chill at nearly 0 F (minus 18C) during the final hours of 2017, the National Weather Service said, testing the willpower of hundreds of thousands of New Year’s Eve revelers.

In the heartland, next week could bring low temperatures last recorded 130 years ago to parts of Nebraska, said David Eastlack, a meteorologist with the weather service. That includes a record low for the date of minus 22F (minus 30C) for Tuesday.

“The bitter cold is going to be dangerous,” he said in a phone interview, warning residents of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa to avoid venturing outside or taking a car trip. He said that the wind chills will be near minus 35F (minus 37C), a level when frostbite could set in within 10 minutes.

The weather service predicted lows would hit minus 20F to minus 30F (minus 7C to -34C) from Montana into the Dakotas and Minnesota, well below average.

Temperatures could drop to around 0 F (minus 18C) as far south as the northern border of Oklahoma on New Year’s Day, and into the minus 30s near the Canadian border on Sunday and Monday, the service said.

The arctic air from Canada will also bring subfreezing temperatures to U.S. Gulf Coast cities such as Biloxi, Mississippi.

 Icy roads will make travel difficult over much of the United States, from the south-central states of Texas and Oklahoma and eastward over Arkansas, northern Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama through the New Year’s weekend, the private AccuWeather forecasting service said.

Weather was expected to remain much more mild on the West Coast, with temperatures forecast in the low 70s in Los Angeles over the next few days.
