THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
COVID-19 campus status levels updated
The Path Forward team has updated UD’s color-coded COVID-19 campus status levels to align better with what we know about current pandemic conditions and take into account lessons learned during the past two years. The status levels are included on the University’s spring semester COVID-19 case dashboard, which is updated weekdays except for University holidays. Read about the change on Porches.
Revised COVID-19 protocols for spring 2022 semester
In a message to campus Jan. 7, the University provided information about COVID-19 protocols for the spring 2022 semester. Notable changes include protocols related to quarantine and isolation and updated information about preferred face coverings and where to get those. Read the message here.
Face coverings now required in residential common areas
UD’s safety protocols have been revised to now require face coverings/masks in all residential common areas such as lobbies, main desk areas, offices, first floor common area hallways, elevators, stairways, laundry rooms and mail rooms. The change was prompted by concerns raised during the Jan. 7 town hall meeting about areas in residence halls that are public or include employee workspaces. Jan. 17 procession, wreath-laying to honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
To honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the University will hold a physically distant procession from Kennedy Union to the Martin Luther King Jr. monument between the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception and Albert Emanuel Hall at noon Monday, Jan. 17. Gather near the fountain outside Kennedy Union around 11:45 a.m. There will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument and comments by University and student leaders. The procession and ceremony will be streamed live on the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center YouTube channel.
Flyer IMPACT seeking peer educators
The Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs Resources and Education (CADRE) is beginning a new peer education program called Flyer IMPACT (Initiating and Motivating a Positive Alcohol and other drug Culture, TOGETHER). Those interested can apply using this Google form by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. Email cadre@udayton.edu with questions about the peer education process, job responsibilities or other parts of the program.
Mailing services to deliver student packages to Fitz Hall lockers
Students living in the student neighborhood should claim packages delivered during the semester break from mailing services in Fitz Hall. Look for an email to notify you of placement in the locker. There may be a delay in notification because of the volume of packages. Mailing services will begin delivering packages to residence halls as soon as possible. UPS and FedEx Ground are being delivered directly to the residence halls as of Jan. 10. Because of the high volume of calls mailing services is receiving since the start of the semester, there may be delays in responding; calls will be returned as soon as possible.
