Fans can’t wait to see Stranger Things season 4. That much is very obvious at this point. And now, fans really want to know when the Stranger Things season 4 release date will be.
Unfortunately, Netflix has not announced the Stranger Things season 4 release date and probably won’t announce the release date for some time.
Production on Stranger Things season 4 has been in progress for most of 2021 so far, and now, things are starting to wind down. There have been reports that production will be ending soon after moving to New Mexico within the last month or so.
With production ending, it means that we should have a much clearer picture of what’s happening with the Stranger Things season 4 release date.
Everyone wants to know when the season of the Netflix original series is coming out. I’m assuming there are very few people who actually know this information given how much is left of production and all the factors in scheduling a release date for a Netflix show.
Luckily, we do have a pretty good idea when to expect Stranger Things season 4. We picked a few of the most popular expected release dates and theories about the new season below and ranked them from least likely to most likely.
Least Likely: 2021 release date 
There’s still the smallest of chances that Stranger Things season 4 is coming to Netflix in 2021, but we really, really, really don’t think it’s going to happen. There’s just not enough time for post-production is filming is wrapping in August as David Harbour and other cast members have said.
Last spring, Finn Wolfhard told a fan on Fanmio that season 4 would be released in 2022, so we’re going to trust him on this one!
Less Likely: January 2022
January 2022 would be a great time to release Stranger Things season 4, but we’ve yet to see Netflix really release a big, big show in January. There have been some great shows to premiere in January, including Cobra Kai, Grace and Frankie, Sex Education and more. But, Stranger Things is the crown jewel at Netflix. This show likely won’t be released in the post-holiday haze!
Very Likely: March or April 2022
Two out of the three seasons of Stranger Things have been released during the same time of year as what we’re seeing in the show. Season 2 was set around Halloween, so it was released in late October. Season 3 was set during Fourth of July weekend, so Netflix released season 3 on the Fourth of July 2019.
There are many theories about Stranger Things season 4 taking place in April 1986, which would mean that the show would then be released in April 2021. That’s not confirmed obviously, but there’s a very good chance that will happen.
We usually see a lot of big Netflix shows in March and April. That seems like a time that Netflix likes to give viewers marquee titles.
Most Likely: February 2022
Is there evidence that Stranger Things season 4 is more likely to come to Netflix in February than March or April? Not really, so this is my prediction.
We all know Stranger Things seasons are set around holidays. Season 1 and season 2 were set around Halloween. The third season was set during the Fourth of July. If that theme holds, we could be getting a Valentine’s Day 2022 release for Stranger Things season 4.
I think it’s going to happen. I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that’s going to happen. I hope we get to see Stranger Things season 4 for Valentine’s Day.
If production wraps in August, Valentine’s Day 2022 is right on that six-month mark, so a lot of things have to go right for it to happen.
That’s our best prediction for Stranger Things season 4 right now. This is one of the best Netflix shows in the works, and we want fans to know that we’re trying to find out everything we can about the new season. We’ll let you know more when we find out.
