6 Tips to Stay Healthy in Winter

Published

on

Everyone is ready to get into shape as soon as spring is about to start, so they can have that ten on ten summer body. Men and women both are very cautious about their beach bodies and want to look their best in their swimsuits at the beach, in the pool, or on vacation. People start getting into shape by dieting and going to gym around April, so they’re good to go in the summers. For this reason, people start binge eating and become a complete couch potato in the winters. They stop going on their morning runs and yoga classes and eat like there’s no tomorrow, because they believe they have a winter break with their health too.

What they don’t realize is that it would be so much more easier to keep a consistent diet and workout during the winters, so you wouldn’t have to work twice as hard as soon as Spring starts. So here are some tips to keep your body and health intact during the winters, so you’re always ready to wear to a swimsuit.

1. Always drink lots of water!

In winters, since you sweat and urinate less, you aren’t losing as much water as you do in the summers, which in return reduces your water intake. The lack of water consumption causes dehydration, as well as urine infections and dries out your skin and hair, causing breakouts and dandruff. So you have to make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water. Make a separate water bottle that you have to finish by the end of the day, so you can manage the amount of water you consume!

2. Eat out only once a week!

Winters make a person lazy and that causes us to start eating out more, or better yet, getting meals delivered to your doorstep. People start ordering way too much fast food, which is dangerous as you start gaining weight really fast. Fast food consists of a lot of oil, and so you risk getting cholesterol at an earlier age. Make a habit of only eating out once a week, that too if you’re absolutely craving something, otherwise try to eat healthy meals that are cooked at home. You can even make yourself a burger with fries, it’ll still be 10 times cleaner and healthier than the ones available at food chains.

3. Prepare meals beforehand.

The best thing to do for people who are too tired to cook after getting home from work is to meal prep. This means that you cook all your week’s meals on one day, whenever you’re free. You plan out what you need to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and prepare it all in a single day and freeze it or refrigerate it. Try and prepare balanced meals, so you can maintain your weight, or if you want to lose some pounds in the winters, then you can make low carbohydrate and high protein meals. Make whatever meals that suit your diet plan, but do cook them at home! This assures hygienic and healthy food!

4. Go to a gym.

If it’s too cold for you to go on your morning jog or you late night swim at the local swimming pool, then don’t worry, just join a gym! The main point is to keep your body physically fit and prevent yourself from getting lazy in the winters. Join a heated gym so you can stay warm, all the while working out!

5. Meditate at home.

If the cold is keeping you at home, don’t worry! Work out at home! Buy some dumbbells and turn on a YouTube video and voila, you can get in some great exercises at home. Or you can do some yoga at home, or even Pilates! These are best to keep your body in shape, all without changing your clothes, leaving the house or even spending money on a gym membership!

6. Replace your coffee with green tea!

Because of the cold weather, people switch from cold lattes and frappuccinos to coffees, adding a lot of cream and sugar to cozy up. The best you can do to cut this down is to replace your daily coffee with a healthier alternative, which is green tea! It’s warm and has zero calories! It’s great for increasing your metabolism, as well as aiding your weight loss journey!

Pro-tip: Add honey in place of sugar, it helps you lose belly fat!

Keep these tips in mind this winter, and you won’t have to cut down everything in April because you’ll have achieved your summer body in the next couple of weeks! Don’t let the cold ruin your Spring! It’s all about consistency!

Same Day Dentures – Actually Worth The Investment or Not?

Published

on

Did you say yes to same-day dentures? If so, then you are already on your way to a brilliant smile. It is one of the most prominent tooth replacement options in the latest dental technology. It has merely allowed streamlining the process and allowed people to come back home with a full set of teeth after just one appointment. Are you wondering how it works?

Mainly, one or more than one implant is inserted into your jaw bone, instead of spending 3-5 months. It clearly means that very minimal time is spent without a visible missing tooth. There are two ways how it differs from the traditional ones.

First of all, same-day implants don’t take much of your time, just a few hours. Whereas, the typical tooth implant procedure takes more than 3 months and that too, with a missing tooth. Secondly, it requires a very less number of visits. But remember, the success rate of this treatment is not that higher as compared to the standard one.

What is the procedure like?

In general, the individual doesn’t have to wait for several months for his gum/tissue to heal. Your dentures are on the spot, ready for the placement. Before the extraction, your expert dentist will take the impressions and images of your dental area. This procedure is applicable for:

  • Replacing a single tooth
  • Replacing 2-3 missing tooths
  • Full set of dental implants
  • All on 4 implants or All on 6 implants

Are you the right candidate for a tooth implant procedure?

If you are wondering what makes them different from other procedures. Basically, they don’t differ much, it is just the time that counts, and the lab work that takes almost a week. If you have made your mind to get it done? If yes, then simply head to a certified/licensed dentist near you and get them fitted while ensuring that the dentures satisfy your needs. Once done with the placement, you are good to go! So, what are you waiting for? Say no to those frequent and never-ending visits and the tedious waiting period.

Is the procedure painful?

Generally, same-day dentures are implemented under local anesthesia. If any sort of sedation is required, that is also provided as it blocks the pain trails. After the effect starts to lessen, an individual may begin to feel a slight discomfort. But not to worry as the dentist recommends specific pain relievers.

Taking care of same-day implants

Well, it entirely depends on oral hygiene and how long you maintain it. Check out the tips below:

  • Brushing

Most expert dentists recommend using a soft-bristle toothbrush. The gentle bristles are generous to the crowns and tissues. Plus, they quickly adapt to the crown surfaces, which helps in thorough cleaning and removing the plaque. A pro tip to follow here is to use a toothpaste with Fluoride as it will keep the cavity formations and decay at bay.

  • Rinsing

Hold on, we are not talking here about the alcohol-based mouthwashes. Ask your dentist for any suitable recommendation. Going twice with mouth rinsing helps in lessening the plaque and bacterial load, which eventually leads to better oral hygiene.

  • Floss

An appropriate floss should be used to clean the area of contact for improving gum health. If an individual follows this, then there’s no risk of dental bone loss in the long run.

  • Generics

Remember, the key takeaway is to evaluate and get the treatment done from time to time. It is better to avoid smoking, alcohol intake, tobacco chewing, and consuming processed foods as much as you can.
