1. Always drink lots of water!

In winters, since you sweat and urinate less, you aren’t losing as much water as you do in the summers, which in return reduces your water intake. The lack of water consumption causes dehydration, as well as urine infections and dries out your skin and hair, causing breakouts and dandruff. So you have to make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water. Make a separate water bottle that you have to finish by the end of the day, so you can manage the amount of water you consume!

2. Eat out only once a week!

Winters make a person lazy and that causes us to start eating out more, or better yet, getting meals delivered to your doorstep. People start ordering way too much fast food, which is dangerous as you start gaining weight really fast. Fast food consists of a lot of oil, and so you risk getting cholesterol at an earlier age. Make a habit of only eating out once a week, that too if you’re absolutely craving something, otherwise try to eat healthy meals that are cooked at home. You can even make yourself a burger with fries, it’ll still be 10 times cleaner and healthier than the ones available at food chains.

3. Prepare meals beforehand.

The best thing to do for people who are too tired to cook after getting home from work is to meal prep. This means that you cook all your week’s meals on one day, whenever you’re free. You plan out what you need to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and prepare it all in a single day and freeze it or refrigerate it. Try and prepare balanced meals, so you can maintain your weight, or if you want to lose some pounds in the winters, then you can make low carbohydrate and high protein meals. Make whatever meals that suit your diet plan, but do cook them at home! This assures hygienic and healthy food!

4. Go to a gym.

If it’s too cold for you to go on your morning jog or you late night swim at the local swimming pool,then don’t worry, just join a gym! The main point is to keep your body physically fit and prevent yourself from getting lazy in the winters. Join a heated gym so you can stay warm, all the while working out!

5. Meditate at home.

If the cold is keeping you at home, don’t worry! Work out at home! Buy some dumbbells and turn on a YouTube video and voila, you can get in some great exercises at home. Or you can do some yoga at home, or even Pilates! These are best to keep your body in shape, all without changing your clothes, leaving the house or even spending money on a gym membership!

6. Replace your coffee with green tea!

Because of the cold weather, people switch from cold lattes and frappuccinos to coffees, adding a lot of cream and sugar to cozy up. The best you can do to cut this down is to replace your daily coffee with a healthier alternative, which is green tea! It’s warm and has zero calories! It’s great for increasing your metabolism, as well as aiding your weight loss journey!
