UNN UN agency condemns terrorist attacks in the strongest possible terms and notes that attacks against health facilities violate international laws.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) claims to have verified 64 attacks against health facilities within Ukraine since Russia began its incursion just a month ago.
The official confirmation of the attacks was carried out from February 24-March 21, at an average of two and three per day, killing between two and 15 victims, as the WHO declared.

“Attacks against health services are in violation of international humanitarian law however; they’re a disturbingly widespread strategy of war. They damage critical infrastructure; however, they also cause despair,” said Dr. Jarno Habicht, WHO representative in Ukraine. WHO official in Ukraine. “They are a way of denying vulnerable populations the care that can be the crucial difference between life and death. Health care isn’t nor should it ever be considered a target.”
Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking hospitals and health facilities, including an infant and maternity hospital in the city under siege, Mariupol, in what some city officials called “a war crime that has no justification.”
Nearly 4 million people have been forced out of the country as per the UN and the UN, with Ukraine standing firm against Russia’s Russian advance. Cities like Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Mariupol are under heavy aerial bombardment, forcing people into underground shelters to protect themselves.
On Wednesday on Wednesday, The United States said it had found out that Russia has committed atrocities in Ukraine and focused on the attack on Mariupol and attacks on the hospital for pregnant women.
“Our evaluation is based on an in-depth review of information from both intelligence and public sources. In the case of any crime the court who has jurisdiction over the offense is ultimately accountable for determining the criminality in particular cases,” said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Russia has denied it targeted civilians with a deliberate motive.
The war of four weeks has caused Ukraine to convert hospitals into hospitals to provide care to the wounded, disrupting the delivery of primary medical care for the remainder of the people.
The WHO stated that nearly 1,000 health centers are within the frontlines or areas of occupation.
“The result of this is that there is no or little access to medical facilities, medicines, and health professionals – means that treatment for chronic diseases is almost non-existent,” the statement said.
The majority of pharmacies are shut down, with many healthcare workers being forced out by the conflict or simply unable to work, according to the report.
COVID-19 vaccinations and routine immunization have also come to a slow halt.
Before the outbreak, there were at least 50,000 who were getting vaccinated against COVID-19 every single day. The WHO reports that between February 24 and March 15, only 175,000 people had been vaccinated against the disease.
The UN agency claimed that it was in close collaboration with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to address the health issues caused by war. They have shipped more than 100 metric tons of medical equipment across the border to hospitals across Ukraine.
About 36 tons of trauma kits, medicines for chronic diseases, and pediatric medication are currently being delivered to Lviv, and an additional 108 tons of supplies are ready to be shipped.
“What we provide and the places where it is delivered is able to meet the requirements of the people in the field, where Ukrainian health professionals are working all hours of the day in almost unimaginable conditions. A team of skilled healthcare experts can, using one WHO trauma kit containing medical equipment, supplies, and antiseptics, save the lives of wounded patients from 150. Also, the delivery of 10 trauma kits equals 1500 lives saved,” said Dr. Habicht.
The WHO announced that it had also sent urgent medical supplies – enough to care for 150 injured patients and offer medical care to 15,000 patients for three months as part of the United Nations convoy to Sumy located in the northeastern region of Ukraine at the beginning of this month.
It also sent more than 20 medical emergency teams to Ukraine and helped the people displaced in Poland and Moldova. The Republic of Moldova.
