Delhi govt to launch 100 airconditioned CNG buses tomorrow
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will launch 100 new air-conditioned buses with technologically improved facilities on Friday at Rajghat Cluster Bus Depot. Delhi transport minister Kailash Gahlot said that these buses will be equipped with “state-of-the-art” facilities including CCTV cameras, panic buttons, Global Positioning System (GPC), Live video streaming in case of emergency, fire detection and suppression system. Gender sensitisation training mandatory for drivers of public service vehicles in Delhi
All public service vehicles in Delhi, including cabs and auto-rickshaws, will not be issued fitness certificates unless their drivers mandatorily undergo gender sensitisation training, officials said on Thursday. The course was mandatory earlier also but it has now been streamlined with some changes, said Navlendra Kumar Singh, joint commissioner of the Delhi government’s transport department. (PTI)

The Delhi high court Thursday pulled up the Delhi Government for “inaction and lethargy” in making operational a Covid care centre at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus even though space has been earmarked for it. Justice Rekha Palli said it is the inaction on the part of Delhi government which has led to the centre not being operational till date and the court was unable to appreciate the inaction and lethargy on the part of the authorities. Market in Delhi closed for violation of Covid norms
The authorities have ordered the closure of Kali Ghata Market in West Karawal Nagar Road in northeast Delhi due to overcrowding and violation of Covid-19 norms amid a surge in coronavirus cases across the national capital, according to an official order. Delivery executive’s death: Wife to be provided job, insurance, other support, says Zomato CEO
Online food delivery platform Zomato on Thursday said it will provide a job to Sucheta Tripathi, wife of its delivery partner Salil Tripathi who died in a road accident last week, and an insurance grant of Rs 10 lakh, besides its employees contributing Rs 12 lakh towards the family’s future. In a tweet, Zomato Founder Deepinder Goyal said, “We are deeply aggrieved by the death of our delivery partner Salil Tripathi in an unfortunate road incident. The 15-year old matter relating to redevelopment of Chandni Chowk area here has outlived its utility, the Delhi high court said on Thursday while permitting an NGO to withdraw the petition filed in 2007. Covid hospital admissions in Delhi stabilised, cases on rise: Health minister Satyendar Jain
Hospital admissions due to Covid have stabilised in the city over the last four days but the number of cases and the positivity rate have seen an increase, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday. “The number of hospital admissions has stabilised over the last four days. Cases are increasing but the hospital admission rate has not increased in the same proportion,” said Jain. (PTI)

Two held for selling stolen phones in Ghaziabad
