This newspaper should stop using biased CNN articles: Letters – LA Daily News

The Saturday piece headlined “Trump uses anti-Semitic tropes, criticizes Jewish citizens” is misleading and incomplete at best, if not outright misinformation.  There is nothing close to anti-Semitic statements in any of the quotes in the article.
No context is provided for whether the assertions are or might be correct or incorrect regarding Jewish Americans support of Israel.
It is so odd that a middle right editorial board consistently relies on left and far left biased stories from the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, et al.  I don’t expect Fox News stories, but at least find some sources that don’t manipulate the news into left wing opinion pieces, please.

Crime is on the rise
Re “DA’s office expands restorative juvenile offenders program” (Dec. 21):
There we go again, only George Gascon doesn’t notice that crime is on the rise. He wants it his way, the “progressive” way where anything goes, including homicide, rape and a few other horrible offenses.
Only people who live in comfortable neighborhoods, I presume he does, have a soft-shoeing approach to the hard reality. A crime is a crime, no matter how old the perpetrators are.
— Christine Peterson, Woodland Hills

Elizabeth Warren targets super market chains on COVID issues
Senator Warren is concerned that supermarket chains took advantage of the COVID virus to gain in profits, where CEO’s were given absurd bonuses.
I wish to thank all the grocery employees who battled the virus to keep food on shelves for all Americans during a very troubling time.
Senator Warren has no similar comments to her legislative friends (Pelosi), who have also profited very well during the pandemic.
Why? She is just tossing a smoke bomb to deflect from the fact quite a few people in government made profits on what they knew by holding a public office.
I will echo to Senator Warren what Speaker Pelosi said recently. “We live in a free economy.”  I feel the it is time to curb government overreach, open up free markets to create an everlasting thriving marketplace, treat workers fair without requiring a workers union to keep check of inequities in the work place, review all current federal restrictions holding the economy in check and make quick bipartisan legislation to change course of action.
— Stephen Lucas, Van Nuys

Frank Zappa
Thanks to Sal Rodriguez for writing about Frank Zappa on Dec. 21. I was saddened when his run forpresident was interrupted by his cancer diagnosis.
As soon as I heard that he was thinking about running, I was on board. He was one of the best and brightest in his time here on earth.

Vaxed or unvaxed firemen/firewomen
When is the lunacy going to stop? Through two years of the worst of the pandemic, firemen came to your homes, put out fires and rendered medical assistance.
They weren’t vaxed. Were they perceived as a medical threat? Were they turned away from helping?
Now, when the worst is over and a mild strain of variant is floating around that is not life threatening, they are being told to either get a shot or face dismissal. Do they have no rights?
Is there not one elected official who will stand up for righteousness?
This madness has to stop.
— Jim Nobilione, San Pedro
